UPDATES
1/21/2010

Thanks to those that were able to come to coach Kevin's house for homemade hot chocolate and then go look at the Christmas lights downtown. Next year maybe we can incorporate some caroling and have the tremndous turnout we did for the Haunted House.

The decision has been made to go with one 14U team for the summer 2010 season. Players initially included in the rostering for 2010 have elected to pursue other avenues closer to their residence and with such a stellar core of remaining players the decision was not terribly difficult. It poses a challenge for our girls as they will be one of, if not the youngest team in the 14U division but this allows us to have continuity and minimal turnover for years to follow. We are currently looking for 3 more players to fill out the roster so those that are interested can contact Kevin Cates at 810-966-8497 or by using the contact option on this website.

The SMAFF had their kick-off meeting recently and we are pleased to announce we will be taking part in background checks for coaches/managers. Our regular season games will basically be Mondays and Wednesdays with specific dates to come. It was also indicated that the playoff dates will be July 6-8. All players will need to file new waiver forms and medical consents once they have been made available.

Traverse City Softball Spectacular this year will be July 9-11 and we are currently working on accomodations. Fortunately many hotel/motel properties are reducing rates from last year so things are looking even brighter over last year. Other tournaments are being considered that range from a "nationals" level tournament in Indiana to a state tournament to friendship tournaments locally.

Stay tuned for an updated winter practice schedule and good luck to all our girls trying out for their school basketball teams.

Congratulations to Maycee Frey, our very own Rocky.

So, which line are you in?

Everyone enjoys going to Cedar Point to have fun, but we all define our own fun. For some, fun is the Top Thrill Dragster while others prefer the Ferris Wheel. Still yet, there are those that define fun as the food and the shows or maybe the Water Park. Softball is much like Cedar Point in that girls define how the game is fun to them. Some simply like belonging to a team and getting out of the house, and that's fine - for them. Others enjoy learning the game, but at a comfortable, easy pace, and that's fine - for them.
Port Huron Cobra Fastpitch Softball is the ride of choice for those seeking the fast, thrilling, sometimes scary, edge of your seat ride that fastpitch softball has to offer. We set the bar high and our girls are not afraid to strive for excellence, on and off the field. We do not believe in the mentality of "they're just girls". Our players look at team USA and say "I want to play like that". They do more than just show up. They put heart and soul into the game and desire to be around others that feel the same way. So climb on, buckle up, and hold on but remember: DO NOT keep your hands and feet in the ride at all times.
